Val Barry was a highly regarded British studio ceramicist. She is known for her hand built abstract forms incorporating geometry and definition.
These three ceramic vases were inspired by the sails of Chinese junkets or fishing boats. Interestingly, it was Barry’s wish that her three vessels be positioned in a similar way to the hoisted sails of these fishing boats.
