Item Description
This pair of desk lamps were designed by Louis C Kalff in the 1950s for Philips.
The lamps are made from painted metal and sit on a tripod stand.
We've had them rewired with rope twisted flex for the UK. They can be adapted for any destination - please ask for more details. Use with a silver topped bulb - widely available and we will supply your first two.
Born in 1897 in the Netherlands, Kalff was a very successful architect and designer and began working for Philips in 1925 working up the ranks to Creative Director in 1946.
In 1958, Kalff worked with Le Corbusier and composer Edgar Varèse on the Philips Pavilion for the World Expo in Brussels.
