Item Description
A very good pair of George III silver candlesticks by John and Thomas Settle, with hallmarks for Sheffield 1816. The silver candlesticks have removable gadrooned sconces on knopped and tapering sticks with loaded bases.
The pair of candlesticks converts to a pair of 3 candle candelabra by the addition of perfectly matching silver plated 2-branch extensions which mount onto the silver candlestick bases.
The conversion provides a means of extending the beautiful candlesticks for special occasions without the full cost of solid silver.
They are all in very good condition, with no plate loss or damage and stand beautifully either as candlesticks or candelabra.
The candlesticks alone are 30cm high but, with the candelabra fitted, they measure 49cm high and 42cm wide.
