Jane Short has been an antiques dealer since the 1980s, including a long period in South Africa where she was Secretary and active member of the South African Antiques Association – SAADA.

She has also dealt in Central Europe and, for the last 8 years, in the UK.

Her speciality has traditionally been furniture, although she has expanded to a wide variety of selected smaller items, including art, porcelain, silver and silver plate, bronzes, clocks, treen and other objets d’art from the 17th to the early 20th Centuries.

The stock also includes a small selection of Vintage and Contemporary items, carefully chosen from the 1930s onwards.

Jane has an interest and experience in interior design and her choice of antiques reflects her wish that pieces she presents for sale will enhance the home and its ambiance.

Jane Short Antiques' stock is exhibited at The Long Melford Antiques Centre in Long Melford, Suffolk, England, CO10 9HX.

Mike Short supports Jane with logistics, stock handling, product preparation, display and general administration.

Having developed a keen interest in antiques over the years, Mike has extended his hand to minor restoration, clock maintenance, frame repair and gilding.
