This is a long vintage Karajar runner. A Persian, woven entrance hall carpet, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1930.

Of great length for the hallway at 105cm x 395cm (41.25" x 155.5")
Displaying a desirable aged patina with historic sun fade and form
Tightly woven with natural red pile and decorated with a green and gold secondary palette
Offers a pleasingly comfortable underfoot feel

Presenting 11 gul or medallions to centre in alternating pattern
Incidental detail with bird motif and palmette flourishes to the ground
Continuous geometric borders in cream and dark blue with colourful detail
Dressed with bands of loose, neat tassels at either end
