Item Description
An early 18th century grandfather clock with an eight day striking movement.
The clock has a brass dial, with the name 'John Hitchin' engraved on the clock face. Decorated with fire gilt corner spandrels.
In good working order, this clock strikes on the hour complete with its original weights and brass pendulum.
The case is of fine proportions, veneered with walnut boasting a wonderful patina.
The pull forward hood is topped with decorative brass finials, with a broken arch framing the brass movement flanked with turned walnut columns.
The long case has a broken arch shaped door, with feather banding and moulded edge.
