This pair of Kutani porcelain vases, attributed to the Yamadō-dō workshop, presents a vivid iron-red enamel ground enriched with fine gilded ornament and alternating figural and floral reserves. The scenes are executed with controlled brushwork, showing children in traditional dress beside blooming garden landscapes, while the floral panels feature peonies and seasonal foliage in layered red, grey, and black enamels. The shoulder band incorporates geometric motifs typical of late Meiji to early Shōwa Kutani production, with radiating gilt scrollwork enhancing the flared necks. The surface craquelure is consistent with age and the enamels remain strong, giving the pair a balanced, decorative presence.
