Item Description
Antique cushioned Venetian mirror, circa 1840, with layered glass frame. The outer and inner frame sections are decorated with circles, or bubbles, and these run either side of a plain bevelled central panel of glass. At each corner the frame is decorated with a fanned half leaf and the narrow strips are secured with glass flowers and glass flower-topped screws. These also hold the narrow frame sections mid-way along each side. The central bevelled mercury glass has foxing across the piece but still reflects the light. This is a very special and rare mirror which, when you see it, is much more beautiful than it looks in the photos!
