Item Description
These cushions are made from a roll of cotton that has been decorated with an indigo batik. Rolls like these are produced to make the borders of Miao minority skirts and are usually 4.5 M long to make a full skirt. The rolls are narrow, only 12" wide as they're woven on narrow looms so I join 2 pieces together to get my required cushion width. I've backed the cushions with a vintage handloomed textile by the Buyi minority, and there are zip fasteners and feather pads.
