Item Description
A superb example of a 19th French cherrywood buffet. The carcass to this handsome buffet/cupboard was constructed from solid cherrywood over a century ago and in this time has developed the most wonderful honey colour together with a richly patinated surface. The thick top sits above a long single drawer with original handles and double cupboard doors below. The doors have moulded inset panels embellished with decorative fretwork escutcheons, original working lock and key revealing the centre shelf when opened. The whole piece is raised upon the prettiest scrolled feet with snail detail united by a low shapely freeze. Cleaned, polished and woodworm treated if only as a precautionary measure.
