Item Description
A rare North European C18th giltwood border glass mirror. The central rectangular plate within a mirrored border of deeply bevelled moulding supporting an arched mirrored cresting surrounded by gesso acanthus leaves and C-scrolls, interspersed with smaller flowerheads. Retaining its beautifully foxed original mercury plates throughout. Two small cracks to the lower left border section. A wonderful timber back with C18th hand cut nailheads showing.
