Item Description

A wonderfully pure example of a late 19th century English folk art handcrafted copper weathervane. Made from hand beaten sectioned sheets of copper, rivetted and simply perfect in its naïve form. A piece of sculptural art in our opinion with its original wrought iron support stick still in place. The patination and naïve folk-art form are what really makes this item special. An easily places object with lots of natural charm and decorative presence.

Size in inches: H 19” x W 27” x D 2.5” (excluding stand)

Origin: United Kingdom

Period: 1880

Material: Copper

Item Condition
Completely solid in structure and form, the sheet copper material has naturally aged over the years, a patina and rust are present in sections as shown in the photos. The stand is a simple wrought iron rod which positions into the base (this item does not stand alone). Its exceedingly difficult to photograph all the areas in this piece, therefore we strongly suggest reviewing all the photos provided as part of this advert and propose questions where sections are unclear to avoid disappointment.
