Item Description
A stunning antique white statuary and green Connemara marble fireplace, circa 1880. Elegantly proportioned, this antique fireplace draws inspiration from classical Georgian styling, the statuary white marble boldly contrasted by vertical green marble inlays.
Neoclassical influences are present throughout including carved floral patera to each end block above impressive jambs styled as Greek ionic columns. The central tablet is most ornate featuring a reclining figure, thought to be the Greek Goddess Venus, with a bow and arrows with a dog beneath a tree.
This sophisticated antique marble fire surround will make a stunning chimneypiece in any setting, bringing the fine elegance of Georgian styling to interiors modern and traditional.
