George Wright &Co, Rotherham

George Wright & Co was established in Rotherham in 1861, having previously traded as Crichley, Wright & Co from 1854. The business incorporated into a limited company in 1905.

The firm manufactured a range of decorative cast iron pieces including stoves, ventilation grates, chimneypieces, gates, railings and various other works of ironmongery.

George Wright Ltd continued production into the 20th century; an advertisement from the South Yorkshire Times can be seen in the 1st June 1979 edition.

Good, original condition. Missing one horn to base. Cast with makers name to base. Wear to paint and minor rust in places.
