SAW SHAW (1916-2000)
Yorkshire-born watercolour, tapestry and stained glass artist, Sax Roland Shaw, studied at Huddersfield before moving permanently to Scotland where he attended Edinburgh College of Art.
During his career, Shaw became one of Britain’s most influential post-war stained glass artists. Examples of his work can be found in churches across Scotland including St Mary’s in Sidegate, East Lothian and Hyndland Parish Church, Glasgow.
CONDITION REPORT
Unsigned. One conservation repair to crack in glass to the centre of the central wing; not easy to see in photos due to the glass texture and patterns. Fitted into a temporary pine frame. Photographed in front of a light box.
