Item Description

A wonderful, and a little curious, pair of brass side eject candlesticks; English, dating to around 1720.

These are in a lovely, long untouched condition. Octagonal throughout, the upper most drip flange retaining a little of this eight-sided detail; both of which have been cast off-centre! The stems are made in four sections, cast in two parts longitudinally, (as is often the case) and then again in two parts through the central knop. The two stems are of slightly different diameter; one almost 1/16 inch narrower than the other. Substantially cast; apparently not easily made.

base: 4 inches across x almost 8 inches high.
