The Decorative Collective sells not just antiques, but a large selecton of mid century modern storage pieces for the home, office or shop. The term mid century is a little 'open' in that it technically spans the period roughly between 1945 and 1975, so post-war and pre Blondie or Bon Jovi depending on your type of music. So not only does it cover a 30 year period, that's a lot of change in terms of the technology and styles that appeared during that period.
Finding pieces by well known designers or makers is always a bonus and the benefit of this period of furniture production is the profuse number of companies from that time, such as Heal's, Charles and Ray Eames, Knoll, Gio Ponti, Hans Wegner, Charlotte Perriand, Gordon Russell and Earnest Race to name but a very few. If your lucky enough to find genuine and rare pieces from these designers and design houses, then buy them as they will only go one way in terms of value in the future and like antiques, it will eventually become harder and harder to find the real thing.
