LAPADA membership is awarded only to dealers who meet the Association’s rigorous criteria for knowledge, quality of stock and responsible practice. To be recognised in this way is both an honour and an affirmation of the approach that defines our gallery: a commitment to accurate research, transparent descriptions and the preservation of exceptional pieces for future generations.
Based in our Grade II listed building in Knaresborough, we present a distinctive mix of material across two floors—from Roman and Greek artefacts to medieval works, 16th- and 17th-century Italian decorative pieces, folk art, mid-century design, architectural salvage and contemporary art. Much of what we offer comes from a very personal collection built over more than three decades of thoughtful buying, scholarship and connoisseurship.
Led by husband-and-wife team Chris Holmes and artist Chloë Holt, our gallery brings together extensive experience in both the antiques trade and the fine art world. This combined perspective informs every piece we select, ensuring that our stock is not only historically interesting but chosen with an eye for beauty, authenticity and cultural significance.
Becoming a LAPADA member strengthens our ongoing commitment to excellence and to maintaining the highest professional standards within the trade.
