Item Description
This very fine late 18th-century George III period mahogany partners library writing table is a remarkable piece. Constructed from solid mahogany, it features a moulded edge and a rectangular top with square moulded corners, showcasing a beautifully patinated green tooled leather inset.
Beneath the surface, you’ll find six oak-lined drawers—three on each side—each retaining its original brass plate handles, working locks, and a functioning key. The elegant table is supported by square tapering legs that terminate in brass caps and original brass castors. Made in England circa 1790, this writing table boasts a rich mahogany brown colour and is in superb original condition.
The figured mahogany exhibits a rich, warm patina, perfectly complemented by the exquisite green tooled leather top. This desk or writing table is not only a testament to exceptional craftsmanship but also a stunning example of Georgian design, making it an ideal piece for any refined interior.
