Important cast iron crest from the Birmingham Mint where it was originally displayed on the face of the building. Formerly the world's largest privately-owned mint, Birmingham Mint Ltd even surpassed the capacity of the Royal Mint. 19th century.
Motto of British Monarchs: Dieu et mon driot ('God and my right')
Motto of the Order of the Garter: Honi soit qui mal y pense ('Shame on him who thinks this evil')
Horn is missing on the unicorn. Some rusting and peeling commensurate with age.
