French chestnut 2 plank dining table

lovely early 19th century table in untouched condition ( which actually means I have used it for 30 years and Never done anything to it !) the 2 plank top is traditional cleated joints and has a fabulous warm and faded patina and wonderful figuring - but could if preferred be fully cleaned and polished . it has 2 drawers . please note that the table is not in 'showroom ' condition - it has an uneven top ( with a slight bow above the side drawer ) and is a bit low at 70 cm ( though the benches we use with the table are a bit high at 47 cm ! )it is also showing signs of woodworm at the tips of the legs and in the base of one drawer . that said it is a rare and beautiful table . the benches are listed separately .

  • H: 70cm (27.56in)
  • W: 189cm (74.41in)
  • D: 79cm (31.10in)

Michael Roberts has been an antique dealer for longer than he cares to remember, for many years specialising in fine architectural items for which he was well renowned, with a vast knowledge on the subject and an unfailing eye.

Nowadays, there is no grand plan, Mike only buys what interests him and he lives happily in France with his family in the beautiful French Alps.

When not scouring the brocantes for his next favourite object, Mike is following his other great passion painting, hence the name Mountain Cow, as you can see what he loves to capture on canvas.

If you would like further pictures of any item, please contact Mike using the email form opposite. Clients are always welcome to visit his beautiful part of the world and view his items, but by appointment only please.  Mike understands it may be a long way to travel for some clients, and he has prepared in advance a lovely guest apartment on the lakefront in Annecy (furnished with some of his stock).  Now there's an offer you can't refuse, beautiful, interesting pieces, in a stunning location with great food, wine and company on tap.  Mike can also tell you exactly where to visit of course.
