Sterling silver pins pair seals, Guglielmo Cini style, with rhinestones, 1930`s ca, American

These item have been gently cleaned while respecting the vintage patina and are ready to wear. New black leatherette gift box included.

Animal pins/brooches have been popular in fashion & costume jewellery since the early 20th Century. This set is inspired in the circus theme and each feature a seal playing with a ball. This theme was very popular in the Art Deco period between the 1920`s & 1930`s.

Although unmarked, this vintage set of American sterling silver brooches are in the style of Italian jewellery designer Guglielmo Cini.

Each pin is made in quality solid sterling silver leaf with red rhinestones accents in the eye of the seals.

The back of the brooch has a standard clasp with a rollover safety mechanism

Both brooches are marked on the back of each tail: `STERLING`.

This set is composed by two seals of similar design but different sizes. They sell together and the price is for the set.

New black leatherette with gold trim quality gift box included.

These vintage pins are in very good condition with no damages. All the rhinestones are present and are the original vintage to the piece. The silver surfaces are in good condition with no damages and some patina & rubbing in line with age & wear. The clasp is in full working order.

GUGLIELMO CINI JEWELLERY HISTORY

Guglielmo Cini, an Italian jeweller from Florence Italy, created a small family owned firm, The Сini Jewellery Company in America in 1922. The company was in Boston until 1957, before moving to Laguna Beach in California.
In 1979, Guglielmo Cini died, but his wife, along with partner Felipe Mendoza, continued the business. Felipe Mendoza was a student of Guglielmo Cini and has been running his business for 45 years. Traditionally, Guglielmo Cini worked with sterling silver leaf and gold. In the 1950`s he began to use artificial stones in his jewellery.
Cini is still running today, currently located in California.
