Item Description
This is a truly remarkable antique Neapolitant Santo's bust with a solid silver crown that dates from the 18th century. Discovered recently in Naples this magnificent Santo is further adorned with a large red coral branch with gold clip and positioned on a stand made of steel. The bust is created from painted hand moulded terracotta with glass eyes. This is an exceptional and rare treasure of exquisite artistic quality enhanced in my opinion with a gloriouslu timeworn patina present on the bust. As it is depicted on the images, including the stand, it measures about 36 x 15 x 13 cm or approximately 14 x 6 x 5 inches. Its opulent and elaborately designed crown weighs about 142 grams of silver [ca 5 oz] with a hall mark imprinted on its base. The red coral is most certainly a vintage item from the 1900's that is in great condition with the 18th carat gold clip. This is a curiously stunning and one of a kind treasure of outstanding beauty and splendour!
