Round bentwood cafe table by Fischel Austria circa 1920’s
An occasional table with four splayed legs joined with a central turned decorative support.
A rare piece with the Fischel label still attached.
David Fischel founded DG Fischel & Son in Neimes, Czechoslovakia making bentwood furniture when the original patent registered by Michael Thonet expired in 1871. By 1913 the company had expanded to work in Vienna too.
