Item Description
Rare French Champagne Ice Bucket in Brass (originally nickel plated but the nickel worn from years of polishing) with Pewter Royal Coat-of-Arms plaque for the world famous and ancient grower Maison 'Perrier Jouet' of Reims, France.
With brass ring handles set into pewter plaques on either side of the cooler which was issued in the post-war years to celebrate the royal warrant for supplying champagne to Buckingham Palace.
Measures 8 inches tall by 6 diameter. Made circa 1950-1975 by the prestige historic silversmith company L'Orfevrerie d'Anjou created in the reign of Louis XIV- with maker's marks on the underneath of the base ( see maker's details in the photos).
In good condition with a little wear from age and usage.
