Item Description
Early 19th Century Regency Period Rosewood and Satinwood Inlay Occasional Table
This exquisite occasional table from the early 19th century Regency Period showcases the elegance and craftsmanship characteristic of its time. It features a beautifully designed oval revolving top, cross-banded in rosewood, which is complemented by two dummy drawers and one working drawer adorned with turned brass handles. Lifting the top reveals a luxurious light blue silk cotton compartment, making it both functional and stylish.
The table is raised on a turned column-shaped baluster and four elegantly shaped splayed legs, which terminate in ball feet.
The figured rosewood exhibits a rich, warm patina that enhances its beauty, perfectly complemented by exquisite satinwood stringing and inlay work throughout.
With its good small size and elegant proportions, this table serves as an ideal centerpiece for any refined interior, whether as a work table or an occasional piece.
This beautifully dressed sewing table displays a desirable aged patina and is in good order. The quality silk cotton in light blue provides a dashing accompaniment, and the beautifully figured lid opens to reveal the light blue compartment, complete with a working lock and key.
