Item Description

An XL prismatic glass Holophane street lantern. French, c.1930.

Now thoughtfully converted for interior use as a pendant. The prismatic glass shade - originally designed to throw a crisp, even light across pavements and façades - retains all the industrial charm and utility that made Holophane a favourite of municipal engineers throughout the early 20th century.

The original street‑light housing, with its worn green finish and honest patina, sits comfortably alongside the ribbed Holophane glass, giving the piece a distinctive blend of urban history and decorative appeal. As a pendant, it offers a beautifully diffused, characterful light. The glass sections are both stamped Holophane France. A great statement piece suited to a variety of different spaces.

Professionally rewired with black twisted flex.
