An unusual wooden storage box/trunk. c.1940
Clearly designed and made for a single purpose, although we're stumped as to what that is! The wood has picked up a beautiful patina over its lifetime, with the interior lined in steel. Top opens as well as front flap secured by a nice little chain detail.
