Item Description
Pair of Oval Brass Bar Carts with Three Tiers and Openwork Gallery. French Work Maison Jansen. Circa 1950 Each cart presents an oval brass structure with three tiered clear glass tiers, each encircled by a finely pierced openwork gallery with egg motifs. The tubular uprights, punctuated by rings, rest on original casters allowing easy movement; small finials crown the corners. The rigour of the design, the quality of the openwork gallery and the elegance of the proportions relate this pair to the productions of Maison Jansen, the great Parisian decorating house founded in 1880, supplier to royal courts, whose movable brass furniture ranks among the most sought-after classics on the market. Condition report: Good overall condition. Brass with an even gilt patina, glass possibly presenting probable surface micro-scratches inherent to use, functional casters. A practical and refined pair, as occasional serving carts or mobile side tables.
