Vintage Deknudt Gilt Console Table With Beveled Mirror Top

Beautiful and elegant vintage console table by Deknudt, Belgium, dating from circa the 1980s.

This striking Belgian console features a beautifully sculpted composite wood frame with a warm gilt finish, combined with a fitted beveled mirrored glass top. The frame is particularly decorative, with pronounced fluted and ribbed detailing running throughout the structure.

One of the most distinctive elements of the design is the architectural treatment of the corners. Multiple parallel ribs sweep gracefully from the horizontal apron into the slender legs, creating elegant curved transitions and giving the console a strong sculptural presence.

The combination of the warm gold finish, geometric detailing and mirrored surface gives the piece a sophisticated Hollywood Regency character with Art Deco and neoclassical influences.

The rectangular mirrored glass top sits neatly within the gilt frame and is finished with a beveled edge, beautifully catching and reflecting the surrounding light. The mirror provides an elegant contrast with the richly textured gold-toned frame and gives the console a lighter, more refined appearance.

The console retains its original manufacturer's label underneath, marked “Made in Belgium” with reference number 1734.123.

With its long and particularly slender proportions, this is an excellent piece for spaces where a full-depth console would be too large.
