Great Vintage Oak Tambour Door Desk Astrola C1930s

A super looking English oak desk by Astrola of London with the benefit of the rarer tambour door to the left hiding slide out filing drawers. The desk sits in wonderful historical condition having been a one family piece and, unlike some, is a lighter well grained oak. The set up is neat and well scaled - we have the oak tambour door to the left which works by way of a brass press button, a flight of 2 drawers to the right - one double size, typing slides to both sides and a well shaped thick top.

Condition is good - the drawers are running as they should with the original oak handles in place, the tambour door is smooth and we have sensible wear and marks to the top. Both sides and back are panelled and as mentioned the colour and tone is good. The maker's transfer sits at the rear and also the factory paper “sign off” is in situ inside the desk behind the two drawers. We have carefully cleaned and lightly waxed the desk to ensure it's ready for use and ready to place. Please note the top will detach from the base if required for moving and placing. The desk is of sensible proportions compared to some of the era.

For any large items that require two people to lift the item, we ask that you are available at the time of delivery to be able to give our shipper a lift off the van and into your house with the item. If you are not able to lift items yourself, we ask that you have someone on hand at the time of delivery to assist our shipper with moving the item. We are happy to quote for a two person delivery if required.
