Item Description
Impressive George III oak dresser base, Cheshire c.1810. Measuring seven feet long. Two plank top with a raised lip at the back and moulded and mahogany crossbanded edges to the front and sides. Over a seven large drawers of graduated height arranged around a two door cupboard at the centre, with a single shaped shelf inside (internal depth 19"). Solid oak drawer fronts with inlaid mahogany crossbanding and cockbeaded edges, repeated on the doors. Heavy brass swan neck handles with rope twist detail to the back plates. Ash drawer linings. Moulded trim around the base and raised on tall bracket feet at the front and sides. Solid oak sides, note the broad single board used at the rear. Excellent colour and condition, restored cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
