Collection Of Cast Iron Dogs By Hubley

#3911
Collection of cast iron dogs by Hubley.

American – early 20thC.

A rare and highly decorative collection of six antique cast iron dog figures by the renowned American manufacturer Hubley Manufacturing Company, celebrated for its exceptional cast iron animal sculptures and decorative objects.

Dating from the early 20th century, these charming canine figures feature beautifully modelled bodies, alert expressions and distinctive pointed ears, capturing the character and strength of the breed, believed to be Boston Terriers.

Each figure has been individually cast in iron and finished with hand-painted detailing in varying shades of black, brown, tan and cream. The original-style painted surfaces display wonderful variations in colour and patina, enhancing their authentic antique character and industrial appeal.

Founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in 1894, the Hubley Manufacturing Company became internationally recognised for its finely detailed cast iron toys, doorstops and decorative animal figures. Today, original Hubley cast iron dogs are particularly sought after by collectors of American folk art, antique animal sculptures and early 20th-century decorative objects.

What makes this collection particularly special is the opportunity to acquire six complementary examples together, creating a striking and cohesive display. Presented as a complete set, the figures offer a wonderful sense of repetition, individuality and sculptural character.

A distinctive collection of vintage American decorative antiques, offered as a set of six.
