Item Description
Two 18th Century Goffering Irons.
These solid brass goffering irons from the 18th Century both on a tripod base, were used by inserting a hot iron rod into the barrel heating the brass to allow starched material to be shaped into ruffs, ribbons, ruffles and frills.
One goffering iron is smaller than the other.
Large 25 cm H x 20 cm W ( foot to foot) x 20 cm D (foot to foot)
Small 21 cm H x 16 cm W ( foot to foot) x 16 cm D ( foot to foot)
