Item Description

The large and very decorative circular railway or tram system mirror, nearing four feet in diameter, with wonderfully aged original glass, foxed and worn, to a red and white painted signalling frame and integral mount to the reverse, the whole surviving from the third quarter of twentieth century eastern Europe.

The mirror is in perfectly useable order with natural distress to the plate and paintwork making it very decorative. Please refer to the photographs for a full visual reference. It has not been overpainted or meddled with in any form and it benefits from having the original fixings verso for fitting securely to a wall.

This type of mirror would originally be found on railways in Eastern Europe, such as the tram systems in Prague harking back to the industrial era; these mirrors were used in and around the shunting yards and on the railways of the old Communist Empire.

A veritable decorative goliath for a large room or indeed out in the wilds.
