Circa 1870. A stylish Gothic-influenced oak hall seat stamped and made by ‘John Taylor of Edinburgh’, the carved and pierced back with an engraved heraldic shield in the center with foliate carving on each side, the arms with pierced gothic tracery, and the shaped solid seat, the visible extended joints with pegs showing on all sides, supported on a pair of pierced trestle ends with stylish tracery all resting on a solid base.
