Item Description
Circa 1960. Oak framed Orkney chair with double stamps on the base: ‘David Kirkness, Kirkwall, Orkney’ and ‘Eunson Reynolds’. It has a classic straw back with a top rail finished in marram grass and a drop-in seat. The classic Orkney arms with a curl to the end were developed by Kirkness and are connected to the frame by brass screws. It is on tapering front and back legs, united by stretchers.
