Item Description
A Regency period giltwood pier mirror of good proportions.
The mirror is of an unusual design with the breakfront cornice boasting a boldly carved central lion mask between a foliate swag, very much in the manner of Thomas Fentham (1774-1825). The original plate is flanked by two reeded trefoil columns beneath a gothic arch. The original plate has some very small areas of tarnish (please see photographs) but remains fully reflective.
Original gilding throughout. There is a very small knock to the top edge of the right cornice. Overall the mirror is in an excellent condition.
A striking mirror of fantastic design and proportions.
