Item Description
Antique Savonarola Armchairs by White, Allom & Co.
Circa 1910.
This same design also by White, Allom & Co was used as a throne chair (chairs of state) at the coronation of King George VI in 1937 and most recently by King Charles III 2023.
Each chair has polychrome painting to the x frame and a herald shield.
The frames have been restored and are now sturdy and ready for upholstery works.
Width 82cm x 63cm Depth x 99cm Height, with a seat width of 61cm, seat depth of 41cm and seat height 57cm. (Please note one chair is slightly taller than the other)
White Allom & Co were established in 1905, by Charles Carrick Allom (1865-1947), and were decorators, furniture manufacturers and antique dealers for many major collectors and clients in the UK and USA. Charles Allom was knighted in 1913 following his work on Buckingham Palace.
