Item Description
An Inlaid 18th Italian Walnut Chest of Drawers.
This attractive chest of drawers is in walnut of fine colour and patination and inlaid with scrollwork detail in contrasting timber. The top of the piece has canted front corners and is inlaid with stringing and additional scrollwork. It has acquired a particularly fine patina over time and the variation in shade and colour is very attractive.
The piece stands on simple bracket feet which follow the pattern of the canted pilasters, also inlaid, which flank the drawers. The drawer configuration consists of two short over three long and the sides of the piece are also veneered in finely figured walnut with stringing.
