This is an antique estate gamekeeper's cabinet. A Scottish, oak table top or wall mounted clerk's cupboard in Arts & Crafts taste, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
A fascinating cabinet, with a superb interior and thoughtful hardware
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
Quality Scottish oak presents fine grain interest and an abundance of medullary rays
Presented in a wonderful caramel hue throughout, adding vibrance to the room
Elegant form, gently arching towards the top edge of the tall doors
Dressed with a brass lock escutcheon bearing a regal cameo — in working order, key present
Accentuated to the upper corners with pierced brass caps as a visual flourish
Doors open to 180 degrees and are held securely with retaining hook and eyes at the side
