This is an antique telegram case. An English, oak letter organiser or stationery box, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900. A delightful example of period craftsmanship, with fine figuring and superb practicality.
Charming Victorian letter organiser, ideal for the home office 
Crafted from select oak with striking grain and abundant medullary rays 
Arranged as five compartments with scalloped divisions for documents 
Compartments with height of 19cm and depth of 13cm respectively
Small drawer set beneath with a tactile wooden pull with a depth of 14.5cm 
Brass plaque to the plinth engraved "Telegrams" – a wonderful period detail 
Rich caramel tones and a warm patina add to its character
