This is a small vintage Maimana Kilim rug. A Middle Eastern, woven prayer mat, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1960.

Of prayer mat or doorway size at 56cm (22'') x 104.5cm (41.25'')
Displaying a desirable aged patina
Woven without pile, Maimanas can be laid either side
Colourful geometric patterns a hallmark of the region
An array of coloured diamonds with a striking blue outline
Further decorated with a sawtooth border and short, loose tassels to both ends
