This is a vintage Mahjong case. A Chinese, mahogany and celluloid gaming set, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1950. Fascinating locking case, redolent of a decanter Tantalus Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order Quality mahogany presents fine grain interest throughout Graced with rich caramel hues beneath a wax polish finish Secure the case with a brass slide lock, with through bar and key on chain Arranged in three main sections with a decorative top cover Lid accentuated with duelling dragon motif in celluloid inlay Offering 144 bamboo and celluloid counters, adorned with colourful markings Top tray provides storage for an assortment of counting strips and a trio of small dice Charming Mid Century instruction manual printed in English with illustrations This is a quality vintage Mahjong case, with a rich appearance to the case and unusual locking nature.
