Item Description
Large early 20th Century French buffet a deux corps or cupboard.A glazed upper part with three doors. Most of the glass is original but two panes have been replaced. This lovely piece with a worn and attractive finish has been stripped down to reveal the layers of brown faux bois finish, cream, blue and ochre. The buffet would have at one time stood directly against the wall in a corner so its cornice has been omitted at one end. At some point in 1960s a plywood back was added. This has been newly painted inside in a country grey chalk paint to compliment the existing colours. Three shelves in the top, two keys for the three locks.
