Circa 1810, newly upholstered in a rich leather, which has been hand dyed using traditional methods to achieve its beautifully aged, mellow character. The generous cushion is deeply buttoned and finished with a classic brass-studded trim.
The substantial mahogany base is raised on large, finely carved scroll/wing-shaped feet, adding considerable presence and decorative appeal. The combination of the deep green leather, warm mahogany and brass studs gives the piece a wonderfully traditional Regency character.
A versatile and impressive piece, ideal as a footstool or coffee table, and equally suited to a period or contemporary interior.
