Item Description
An early 19th century painted pine huffer or plate warming cabinet. In the original cream paint with brass handles, single hinged door and raised on sledge feet . The single door opens to reveal three large fixed shelves. These plate warming cabinets were designed with an open back to be placed against the large kitchen ranges to warm plates. This example has been later fitted with a plywood back.
