Established in 1998, Marcus Spencer specialises in Regency, Victorian and Edwardian period seating, antique English sofas, armchairs and ottomans, as well as creating one-off bespoke items. Marcus has over 20 years experience as an antique upholsterer.

Based in a historic Silk Mill in the Cotswolds, his collection of antique pieces includes many Howard & Sons sofas and chairs as well as other celebrated makers such as Holland & Sons, Shoolbred, Hamptons of Pall Mall and Hindley & Sons.  His work is inspired by these master makers of the 18th and 19th centuries.

Unique bespoke items are individually 'coach-built' using ash, oak and mahogany hard woods and then traditionally upholstered by Marcus himself and French polished by Mike Smith-Wood (BADA).

Helping to combat the environmental impact of mass produced furniture is also a passion for Marcus.  His objective is to use responsibly resourced, non-toxic and environmentally friendly materials.
