Item Description
A fabulous pair of Vienna Secessionist bentwood armchairs designed by Otto Wagner (1841-1918). Model 721. Circa 1905.
Manufactured by Jacob & Josef Kohn. Stamped J & J Kohn - Teschen - Austria, along with J. & J. Kohn paper label.
A stylishly simple design by the father of the Secessionist movement, the beech bentwood having a back pierced with circular apertures.
The chairs have been sympathetically re-finished by hand and have a smooth waxed finish, still retaining light authentic marks to highlight their genuine heritage. There are no loose joints, but due to the nature of these chairs, they have some very slight movement down to design.
Additional dimensions information:
Seat height is 47cm. The arm height is 78.5cm.
