Item Description
Edwardian oak and iron snooker cue stand. Retailer's label: Arthur Newbery, Reading. Circa 1900.
In very good original condition, showing light signs of use to the finish as expected. There is no damage.
The stand has a shaped top, with six cast iron mounts boasting turning locks to hold the cues. Below is a fielded panel followed by an open aperture. The stand retains the original enamelled metal tray base, and stands on iron hairy paw feet. The rotating cue holders all work perfectly. The back has iron roundels to sit against the wall, helpful if there is a skirting board.
